Toast

Quickie:

A fun food game, much like hot potato.

Pro Tips:

  1. Choose funny foods, not necessarily vomit-inducing foods.
  2. If a student really doesn't want to eat something, don't make them... have a leader take one for the team!

Supplies:

  • 1 toaster
  • a loaf of sliced bread
  • miscellaneous and unusual toppings/spreads
  • Plastic knives

How to Play:

Have everyone stand in a circle. Put a toaster in the center of the circle on a table. Put the toppings on the table. Start toasting a piece of bread. While it's toasting, pass the plastic knife around the circle (the knife can't change directions). When the toast pops out of the toaster, whoever is holding the knife must choose a topping, put it on the toast and eat it. Afterwards, remove that topping from the table... it's no longer an option. This way, the game gets more and more serious as time goes on. The game is over when there are no ingredients left on the table. The object of the game is simply not to be caught with the knife in your hand - so you won't have to eat toast with a strange topping.

No players are eliminated during this game.

Don't dictate how much of a topping or how big of a bite a student takes. This makes it a little more reasonable for you to ask the student to do it in the first place.

Have plenty of plastic knives on hand so that you can use a new one each round. Also some students may not want to use a knife to spread their toast topping with if it's been in the hands of every student in your youth group.
